Bookending: difficult conversation with supervisor.

Hi friends. Here goes:

"I feel anxious and angry when you speak in a non-professional way to me, and it is a threat to my sobriety. Please speak respectfully to me or accept this two week's notice."

I've been in a very toxic work situation for years.

I am getting close to leaving anyway, but things have gotten worse this week.

So there it is! I hope I don't have to use it, but I am ready.

I'll be sure to post here, either way.

Sorry to hear that things are not going well at work. Best of luck in whatever may happen.

Hello Oak,

I'm sorry that it may come to this. Don't know the details at all, but work pressures can be really hard and tough personalities make things worse.

Hope your situation gets better either way.

Someone I admire is setting a sound boundary. Of course I support and pledge my continuing support. Please take care. Keep us informed.

Thank you, friends!

Your encouragement helped me be ready for if things got bad.

Fortunately I didn't have to use that boundary, but it calmed to know I had it ready, that I had defined how low of a bottom I'd be willing to accept.
