These are a few of my favorite things...

The sound of little kids and dogs eating something crunchy.
Six feet under. I know it sounds weird but I've seen the series 5 times and I feel as if they are my family and as if every character represents a side of me. Watching this show helped me realize that it was okay to talk about death and the serious matters of life instead of avoiding them as my family tends to do. My guess is that anyone who likes this podcast would enjoy SFU.
Quotes, poems, and songs that put huge ideas into a few words.
An orange that you can peel in one try.
Acing a volleyball serve.
When old people share fond memories and tell stories
Moments with close friends when words aren't needed.
The brotherly love that arises out of extreme weather.
The moments of deep seated gratitude when you realize what you've made it through and that you wouldn't go back and change a thing because those experiences lead you this great moment. The sense of everything being worth it all and the recognition of beauty in the breakdown.
Traveling alone and making new friends in hostels.
Going to the movie theatre alone.
Not getting a parking ticket when I should have.
Old people who tell stories. Especially if they use curse words.
Thrift scores! (Finding something awesome someone threw away)
The back scratch that makes me drool and make orgasm noises. A back scratch beats an orgasm any day
The sound of the sitar.
A baby's laughter.
Making a connection with a stranger. I once flashed the peace sign to the guy who moved out of the fast lane for me, he flashed it back and we waved goodbye when I exited further down the road. Little things like that make me so happy.
Learning languages and studying the origin of words
when everyone is looking at me like I'm nuts because I'm laughing uncontrollably making weird sounds, heaving, and I can't get a full sentence out...
That feeling when you hook a big fish and the anticipation of reeling it in and finding out what's on the end of your line.
A good cry
Laughing with my siblings - it's like being a kid again and forgetting all of the
Dressing for the cold and getting outside to fuck around in the winter snow.
A fabulously soft blanket.
Turquoise
Documentaries
The smell of lilacs and gardenias.
Garlic cooking in olive oil flooding the house with aroma and cueing my appetite.
When autumn sets the trees ablaze
Seafood
An honest salesman
Key lime pie, cookies and cream ice cream, coconut gelato
Simon and garfunkel
Triumphant survival stories (holocaust, locked up abroad, I survived, intervention)
Alphonse mucha's Art
Impressionist art
The view of cornrows as I speed by in my car and other sights and smells of the farm
A connection with a horse, or any animal really, when they nuzzle into you.
Talking about the wonderings and ponderings we have.
Weeping willow trees echoed in the ponds reflection
Homemade stovetop popcorn
My moms smile and hands
My dads humor and silliness.
The feeling of sweet release after you've finally found a restroom and are ready to burst.
Waking up muscles you haven't used by doing something fun and being sore the next day
Making silly sounds, faces, being outrageous in public.
Helping a tourist/foreigner.
Scrabble.
Crosswords.
Trivia nights and drinks with friends.
When Ive been working with a student for so long in so many ways to understand something and then the lightbulb goes off...makes all of the work worth it.
Reminiscing.
