Re: Troebia's Diary
In a foreign city, loud, crammed, busy, assaulting the senses in a multitude of ways. Nothing seems to go as planned but that's OK, adapting to circumstances. Some say this place is the India of Europe. Every piece of transportation seems to accumulate the intense energy of its inhabitants and I wouldn't be surprised if the idle train cars vibrate and hum at night, the motorcycles grind their gears while parked alone and the streets sweat and heave in their sleep. A strange obsession with football, or soccer as they say in the US. Food, food, food which is almost synonymous with pasta and pizza. A smoking volcano looming over the coast, and neighborhoods that tremble in almost daily earthquakes. Everything is broken and flawed. I feel strangely at home.

Very poetic! A thoughtful vignette.
