I started listening to the podcasts after hearing Paul on The Nerdist, and now I listen to the Mental Illness Happy Hour way more than anything else.
I'm a 23 year old transman (female-to-male). I had to drop out of school a few years ago because of some severe depression. I had to get away from my family and start living as a dude in order to get to any sort of happiness going...but I'm not really out of the woods yet. When my tax returns come in (hopefully soon!) I'll be going to a psychiatrist for the first time in a couple years. I've been diagnosed with so many different whatevers since I was a teenager that I don't really know what's going on with me. I have a hard time identifying my own feelings. My big problem lately, though, is I can't focus on getting simple things done. Even when I'm doing something lazy, something I love, my mind jumps around and I have to get up and I get distracted...I've been taking care of myself, by myself, for the very first time and it's made me realize that this is a problem.
Anyway, I like the podcasts a lot but I have nobody to talk to about them, so here I am. I hope I can stick with this forum long enough to make a pal or two or something.

Welcome, pull up a chair and sit a spell. We have lemonade in the fridge and popsicles in the freezer.

Oddly enough I also found this podcast through the Nerdist. And much like Transman I find I listen to this podcast more now than the others, though I am also playing catch up. I hope that this Podcast continues because it gives me hope I am not alone in dealing with mental illness.

Hey Harold! Welcome. Did you get your tax returns and see a psychiatrist yet? I hope so.
