Lexa-noooooooo!!!!

Post by Geek »

I tried Lexapro for the first time last night. Everything was fine until I woke up at 1:00 A feeling like my skin was on fire and my muscles were so weak I had trouble making it to the kitchen. I could not go back to sleep, mainly due to the weird fire thing. I know lots of people have had great results with Lexapro, but I'm not one of them.

I can't seem to tolerate SSRI's, anyone else have the same issue?

Yikes! Sorry to hear that happened to you. Mostly I have just gotten nausea, tiredness with starting a new prescription. As a result of that, any time my meds are changed, I make sure to start off with less than the recommended dose - half, or even a quarter of the regular dose. Talk to your doc about it, of course, but they should be fine with building up gradually. If you don't have any problems after a few days with the smaller dose, you can increase it.
