Book recommendations/reviews and favorite quotes from guests
I would love to have a list of books recommended by Paul, his guests and the listeners.
I can't write the titles down when I am driving, and that's when I listen to the podcasts.
Also, there are some brilliant quotes from guests, and it would be fun to share our favorites.
Nandi's "Abusement" park metaphors were amazing!

We had one before the forum got screwed up. I'll create a thread again. Thanks for the reminder.

I've just started Facing Love Addiction by Pia Mellody, and it is great! I didn't think it would apply to me, but it does. I love Pia's compassionate writing style and the structure of the way she lays out the information so it's very easy to understand. Stirling Gardner mentioned this book on his episode, #209.
I also love Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy by Dr. David Burns
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay

Also Facing Codependence by Pia Mellody. Very informative about me, especially me, and some people in my life.

The Feeling Good Handbook by Dr. David Burns is an oldie and still a goodie. I just dug mine out and started using it again, and sent copies to my daughter (after her first hospitalization and bipolar diagnosis) and a good friend (in the middle of nasty divorce).
I also like the books by Kay Redfield Jamison, a Johns Hopkins professor who is bipolar and has written about mental illness. Her books are well written, interesting, with personal stories and clinical information and statistics.
Touched with Fire: Manic-Depressive Illness and the Creative Temperament (1993)
An Unquiet Mind: Memoir of Moods and Madness (1995)
Night Falls Fast: Understanding Suicide (1999)
Exuberance: The Passion for Life (2004)
Nothing Was the Same: A Memoir (2009)
I have to remember to try the Eckhard Tolle books.
Thanks for all the recommendations

In the Jeff Rosenthal episode, Paul recommends Shadows of Survival by Kristine Keese. It's a memoir of the Holocaust.
