Episode 178: Anna Akana
Just stumbled upon this story of a young woman in Canada, daughter of immigrants from Vietnam. I feel it echoes a lot of the things Anna Akana was talking about with regard to her own upbringing, and it shows where unrelenting pressure to succeed can lead, especially when coupled with the implicit or explicit rule that failure and "weakness" are unforgivable and taboo.
