This discovery--which builds upon decades of early-stage research--could lead to more effective therapies for the cognitive symptoms of schizophrenia, a psychiatric disorder that affects more than 21 million people worldwide."

seems as if they have a piece of the puzzle.i tried to look up what the protein was on wikipedia and didn't find any useful information.
they stated that the issue was addressed at the early stages, i guess inferring that it might have to be done the same with us.
i had a scan of my brain and they said they didn't find anything.
