What to try next if CBT has proved to be no good for me?

What to try next if CBT has proved to be no good for me?

Post by lostdreamer »

I'm struggling with ptsd and anxiety and have tried CBT for quite a few years now and I feel that I need to try another approach. I think CBT may have helped me out a little bit at first, but now my therapist is just telling me that I've learnt pretty much all the things I can with CBT and all I can do is carry on with it. This doesn't greatly appeal and feels pretty hopeless, is there anything else that could maybe be more beneficial than what I've been trying already for so long? Thank you

Ah no I haven't yet, I was wondering if that was worth a try.
Thank you for the reply :)

(also sorry if I'm using this a little wrong, I'm not a huge forum user)

Hey, I've been doing somatic experiencing for more than a year now and it's a flipping godsend.
