I'm very sorry to hear about your lost housing and hard times, Five Facts. Is your partner there with you where you're staying? I like the image of the sparkly nail polish. I hope there's a little ray of light like that coming through for you this weekend. I promise to keep reading if throwing out those buckets helps even a tiny bit.

I encourage you, as kindly and gently as I can, to find work soon. Unemployment is a crisis, and I hope you can your way out of it soon.

Keep us posted. I hope things get better for you soon. In the meantime, you are valued here, and by me.

Hi folks. Time for my irregularly scheduled truth telling.

1. I've been on the street for the past week.

2. It has been an unusually cold week in this part of the country.

3. I'm working on not connecting those two facts in my head.

4. I'm watching someone change the marquee on the historic theater across the street. It involves a lot of going up and down a weird little junior scaffold thing.

5. Americans throw out an offensive amount of perfectly edible food in the course of the day.

I managed safe. Warm was much harder, but it wasn't fatal.

Mother's Day is unpleasant, so I wanted to try going back to an old AA trick.

I'm grateful for the feeling of the sun on my face this morning.

I'm grateful for the little kid in the stroller I saw in a sweater vest and tie, eating his crackers with his legs crossed in perfect adult fashion.

I'm grateful that I was able to make amends to my sister while we were both still alive.

I'm grateful my legs still work.

I'm grateful I've been safe and fed in all my time on the street.
