Re: Mindfulness
oh that last post gave me goosebumps.
I have noticed today on my morning gallop around the streets how i feel so free when running in the rain. How beautiful a raindrop feels on the face, how calming it feels to run without noise around me. No cars, no people, no worry. I also noticed i do unconsciously use an unintentional muntra when i run. I count to four all the time. Plus i breath out on 4 with a little more power. I wasn't really aware of it until today.
When in the process of meditation i struggle to keep the mind on the muntra. Yet when i run i count and think of nothing else. It's so freeing.
I assume when i meditate it should feel the same as it does when i run!!!
On that note better get back to my paperwork, i will try incorporate counting when doing my meditation as see if i can get this brain to stop the chatter that goes on without me!!

I may not need to know what I’m doing. I could even up the level of not knowing.

Re: Mindfulness
I have started focusing on my sleep hygiene. Better late than never.
As soon as I get home from work I am lining things up to go to bed on time.
It’s definitely a relief to get up feeling rested and then experiencing the morning with my brain in gear.
The advice I received to make it easy was to go to bed every night at the same time; like 7 days a week. Worth it.

Re: Mindfulness
Speaking my language there Beany Boo.
That’s a great way to make the next day better than the last. My routine is timed down to the last minute. Once settled and in my JimJams I’m a happy camper…..until the brain plays dreams that I always seem to get front row seats for. Bugger it!

Re: Mindfulness
The sleep hygiene is working. I realize that many anxious instances across the day are a primal need to sleep; a need deprived.
I’m able to let go or step away from trigger moments now. I can ‘choose the moment’ myself, to commit attention, passing by a lot of unsprung triggers that would have got me stuck and trying to hyper-logic my way out of danger, while on less sleep.
Hopefully I’m making sense.

Re: Mindfulness
Good to hear Beany.
Easy to take sleep for granted as a no-brainer activity, like it just happens....
I didn't sleep well last night, and this morning feel pretty crummy.
And the anxiety revs up. All I could think about (a bit obsessively) was my mental "to-do" list for the upcoming day, with negative interpretations and projected outcomes...

Re: Mindfulness
Sleep hygiene focus continues.
It has subtly shifted how I manage my time, what I choose to get done, what I worry about, and what I give up to make the deadline.
Am I happier?
Things take less effort… …
