I had a good sleep and things that seemed worrisome yesterday, have all but evaporated today.

A new thought out of nowhere this morning: ‘make it so that all the things eventually do just one thing.’ Not sure what it means. It strikes me I should not try too hard to capture the meaning.

I did ‘Foot kissing the earth’ meditation as I walked to the supermarket. It just sort of started happening before I was even aware. Sometimes the weather is enough to get the ball rolling.

I’m loathe to be looking after, and thinking only about just myself of late. But that’s possibly the quiet-before-the-storm of looking after and thinking about others; in a healthy way, in a few moment’s time.

Another insight bubbled up this morning.

I can’t really give most people what they need; especially when the need is immediately strong.

There are issues and circumstances that have set that reality.

But I can give out the help I am capable of (and in that way fulfill my own deep need). Eventually in certain moments that help will become the flourish another uses to turn on; and turn on yet others.

In the meantime, it’s okay to double down on ‘helping badly’ and just enjoy my own banal experience of it.

I will pay attention to improving the how through trial and error.

Today’s improvement: in most cases there’s far fewer moving parts than the imagination appends.

Nothing and no one will be enough for me today, including myself. Difference is, I can now comfortably take up all my space, let my tongue go unedited and let others decide for themselves how they see me.

So all I have to do meanwhile, is caretake the day.

I started a new little experiment yesterday.

Whenever I changed position - from online to off, or between different activities - I set a 2 minute timer. I’d run the timer and just do nothing.

It felt intuitive to try it out. It was surprisingly effective; there was some profound element in it too. I felt my brain relaxing a little each time.

2 minutes is long enough for a shift to occur and short enough to not feel stuck or overwhelmed. I felt a little more ready and able to choose when I started up again after the timer.

Hopefully I can carry it forward; at least when I am not with others.
