Re: Mindfulness
Something I didn’t expect to help is proving to lower my stress level markedly.
I’ve started scheduling my emails. Later the same day, next day, next week.
There’s something about splitting the writing and the sending that causes a de-escalation I didn’t realize was even escalated.
It gives me time to redraft, delete, copy people in or out. Instead of waiting in anticipation, or dread, I forget I’ve sent it, until I’m reminded later by the recipient when they eventually get it. In the meantime, any animus about it has long deflated.
It’s made me see that very few emails are genuinely urgent. And, I usually don’t communicate complex messages well, until like the third draft.
I had one yesterday that I scheduled to send today. After I clicked ‘schedule’ I realized it was actually 3 different emails. I split the messages up, redrafted each and timed them so they would read as different issues when finally received.
I breathed a sigh of relief; that, after decades, I found a way to feel a little less violated by the information-flow.

Re: Mindfulness
I’ve started letting people make their own mistakes.
It’s excruciating.
I feel compelled to get ready to help them if they ask.
I don’t really have much experience at that.

Re: Mindfulness
Hi Beany,
Do you have the <co-dependent> thing going on?
I wonder about myself
What one person calls “staying stoic under verbal abuse” another person would call it “co-dependent with poor boundaries”
I wonder about myself, truly
Take care Beany, you always contribute so much here, very thought provoking
