Hi Oak & all,

For now, just wanted to say that you always have my support, Oak.

Wondering if your mood today is partly due to the holiday tomorrow? I’ve also found myself to get overwhelmed when thinking I need to change many parts of my life quickly.

Barre (any physical fitness activities) seem to me like an excellent area to prioritize because they can affect every other area of your life by providing more energy, etc. I’m sure you already know this and I’m saying this as a reminder to myself as well!

If you need a break today, that’s okay.

And thank you for sharing the links, MM! I promised myself to try one when I get home from all my errands this evening.

Take care today, Oak. Give yourself a hug from me if you feel like it.

RiverGirl! Hi. Thanks for your advice. I took to heart and am doing nothing today.

And yes, Mothers Day is a downer.

Also, six months into my barre experience I real how far I have to go.

Sigh.

Thank you, Manuel Moe! And thank RiverGirl: I made it to barre today!

Friends, I have streamlined my list to:

2 major goals (build professional skills, and barre)
2 secondary goals (nutrition and cleaning)
2 that I'll "just fix" (bring snacks so I don't get hungry at the office, and leaving for said office on time)
1 that I can't handle just yet (dating)

I think you'll agree that focusing on the two most important is a worthy summer.

(I also desperately want a summer romance!)

I've also made a list of fun things to look forward to:

They have yoga on the picturesque square in my town Saturday mornings during the summer.
There is local swing dancing.
See my college friends (maybe).

This is not shaping up to be the summer I most want. It is still just mid-May, and maybe I can take action to turn things around.

(I am more scared and sad than I am letting on.)

Hi friends!

I had my session with my mental health counselor today, and we agreed on limited/achievable actions, broken down by day/week/month, for my two most important summer goals: (1) getting better at barre and (2) building my professional skills to increase my odds of getting a 100% remote position.

I'll post a week from today with an update :)
