Re: Troebia's Diary
Hello Trobia,
Thanks for the Snoring Dog sketch.
I see a little Curious and a little Goofy in there...
Two traits that aren't bad to have, right?

Re: Troebia's Diary
Yes...in their proper measure!
My mood today:
Still torn about making efforts to get together more with the local Urban Sketchers group. I realise I come across as a bit intense in those gatherings, since I prefer to sit together with people and chat about what we're doing as we draw. Most will just spread out and draw by themselves, then an hour after that there's a group photo and then we go to some café or bar. The conversation there is only 10% about art and what we've just done, and the rest is about the food we're having, family, sports, other hobbies and chitchat. And I've already described in earlier posts my failed intents at convo with many people who actually are artists, and how I am (to them) someone uneducated who's possibly out to steal some of their trade secrets. I get much more quality time out of going solo, but I'm self-conscious about people coming up to me and looking/staring. For example it's different and less "threatening" to an old lady to see three guys chatting with easels outside the door of her village house, than just one lonely stranger that weirds her out. Maybe I'll simply have to grow a thicker skin. I'd love to have the kind of dog that sits calmly beside me (dogs are an infallible icebreaker) but the one we have now has to be on leash or he'll escape into the brambles.
[continued]
My dreams are so strange lately, flashbacks mix with "flash forwards" where I am in a situation and place I don't remember. I'll definitely take this up with the therapist. It's not like waking up from a "normal" dream when you just recalibrate in a split second and think "oh that was weird". It's as if I actually were in another life, and after waking up it's like having to adapt again to reality(?). I'm extremely grateful that nothing traumatic happens in these recurring dreams, I simply live in a city with trams up in the mountains, I have another dog and the climate is cooler. Maybe it's just that I'm not happy with my situation right now and my dreams allow me to escape.

I'm glad you liked them! It was Mental Fairy's idea.
Btw, MM, I've been wanting to ask: you have a Reddit link in your signature but that subreddit was last updated 4 years ago. Are you posting elsewhere on Reddit now?

Hi Troebia!
Don’t really have a creative outpost on the internet right now
Hopefully I will get my act together on the TikTok
All the best!

Re: Troebia's Diary
A brief Friday check-in:
In order to reduce my alcohol intake, I have increased the Xanax to 0.5mg in the morning and compensate with caffeine so I don't get too drowsy. Marilyn Monroe-style, uppers and downers in the same gulp. Double glass of wine in the evening instead of shot of whisky.
Every thirsty tree I've cut down this week has felt like a small liberation. A long flower bed has been uprooted and replaced with cactus and succulents.
I have been concentrating on painting and ink doodling. There is nowhere I'd rather be or nothing I'd rather do right now than fiddling with my paints, brushes and papers. The lock to better self-esteem and better art is inside myself, and it feels as if I'm clumsily forging the key. I'm not the one to dream and set up lofty goals; to see a path ahead and follow it is enough.

Hello Troebia,
Thanks for posting your work! Nice subtle color mix.
And it's good to see you're using meds and drink mindfully, as tools.
(I've often taken a drink too many, looking for something where I shouldn't).
One of your earlier posts set me on a bit of a thought spiral, e.g.-
What "separates us from the beasts"? What to do beyond the fundamentals of existence?
Maybe I'll start a thread...

Re: Troebia's Diary
Hope you don't mind.
Just came across this story. Someone bought a Wyeth painting for $4 in a New England shop.
