Re: Mindfulness
Hi beanie,
Yes, if I don’t do it perfectly, I often don’t give myself any credit at all

Yes, if you don’t meet a high risk expectation, you’re going to make yourself go without.manuel_moe_g wrote: ↑September 24th, 2023, 9:15 amYes, if I don’t do it perfectly, I often don’t give myself any credit at all

Re: Mindfulness
Woke up well after sleeping through.
I am taking it easy today.
I feel like there is some deep undercurrent but I don’t have access to it right now.
I’m actually happy just shuffling from room to room.
It’s the first real day of rest in a while.

Re: Mindfulness
Today went well.
It’s strange to pass the hours expecting no relationship drama of any kind.
I am starting to understand that everyday listeners are treated differently.
Listening is costing me less and returning more though I still feel like a beginner.
I’m also feeling more in control of how I use my time, and it feels more like it belongs to me.
I think tomorrow might be similar.

Re: Mindfulness
Opposite of a state of mindfulness is the Monkey Mind.
Just heard about this recently, but boy I've had one living in my head forever...
From Wikipedia -
The expression "monkey mind" commonly appears in two reversible four-character idioms paired with yima or iba 意 馬, which means "idea horse":
Chinese xinyuanyima 心 猿 意 馬
Japanese ibashin'en 意 馬 心 猿
illustrate the interconnectedness of a restless mind and wandering thoughts.

Re: Mindfulness
Slept with a crick but woke up well.
There’s a feeling like nothing particularly challenging will happen today. A day requiring no perfecting or efforting. Crises abound but only require light touches.
I’m nobody in the most comfortable way. An anonymous burden in a society all facing in other directions.
Objective 1: Midafternoon
Objective 2: Active listening
Objective 3: Hodo-hodo

Re: Mindfulness
Woke up early after a very vivid dream and some disconcerting, intimate encounters yesterday with strangers.
I am communicating more subtle meaning of late that others are interpreting in ways I don’t control. My instinct previously would be to recoil. Now it’s just to relinquish control of how others see me. And to let myself have an affect on them.
I want people to get my attention today. I’m going to persist in trying to paraphrase what they say to me. I’m more than a little afraid of understanding what certain people mean. Still, I’m free to choose communication moments. It’s not a listening boot camp.
I think getting to midafternoon might be difficult today. I’ll get there but it’s going to be a struggle to stay present through the gathering overwhelm. I’ve got to remember that it’s just ‘weather’.
There’s one objective today: breathe, without trying to get each one perfect

Re: Mindfulness
Today was a struggle though there was a late turnaround. I sensed something in the air this morning.
I don’t really understand it. I got triggered around midafternoon after a relatively quiet day. I wanted to blame someone for it but just couldn’t do it.
Instead of getting stuck like usual I began to act strongly sympathetic towards myself. It felt very comforting.
It’s not something I thought existed. It turns out it was just something I hadn’t learned to do until now.
It was definitely worth the wait. I’m not that great at it but with practice who knows?

Re: Mindfulness
Today was difficult but went well.
I had some moments of strong self-sympathy, around lunchtime. I didn’t really mind if it showed either.
It was easier to support others too even when I didn’t know if I was doing it right.
I feel like it’s safe of late to try stuff that I’m not particularly good at.
It’s midafternoon and maybe I was more useful today than most days by my own estimation. There certainly seems to be more left in the tank by this time of day than usual.
