Never thought of it like that. He said I was just a trophy wife that he kept on the shelf. Apparently after the separation I’m a broken trophy you keep in the basement.

I really hated to hear he would downplay to others your high level of medical professional skill and ability

Love means always talking up your partner’s skills and abilities, at least that is what it means to me

I agree with that completely. He can be so nice when he wants to be. It’s so confusing.

A person that says that type of thing can be expressing that deep down they feel they don't deserve to be with you. And "keep" means "dominate and subjugate" here.

Hello Mental Fairy,

A few comments, a bit harsh, I'm sorry.

Hmm. Passive aggressive after two visits? Seems a little strange to me, like he felt he was coerced into going or something and was resisting...

And "trophy wife"? wow. From here, that sounds pretty weird and possibly demeaning. What the hell is he talking about? One the one hand, you're just a fish monger, and on the other you're a trophy?
My ex husband wants to reconcile if I cut the mountain out of my life and all the people I go with.
So, he wants to lobotomize you and live with a zombie?
What you've enjoyed and found solace in before you met him, AND all the people you go with? That's a ridiculous ask.
What wonderments is he bringing to the table in exchange? And what does "reconcile" actually mean in his mind?
