Hi Paul & everyone else, my name is Kathy.
I hope at least that I am the only listener living in Bangkok - like you I suffer from occasional grandiosity and desperately wanting to be unique. I also deal with the fun times that are OCD and other related compulsive behaviors, and am a "friend of Bill / Jimmy" as they say. It's funny how you can kind of intuit from someone's way of phrasing/understanding/looking at things that they are "one of us", even before it is explicitly mentioned. I could tell pretty instantly listening to Marc Maron, and the same with you!
I am a huge fan of the podcast. I draw cartoons and do other creative type things for a living, and there are often stretches of time where it's not actually creative but rather tedious - scanning stuff and touching things up on photoshop, and that's where podcasts are a real lifesaver. Having exhausted my usual comedy podcasts and looking for something new, I found yours. I especially like it because not only does it make the time go by pleasantly, it transforms these tedious hours of photoshopping into a meditative, introspective experience. You pass on a lot of truth and insight in your interviews and it makes me feel less alone. And it makes me laugh!
You can see my comics at http://kathymacleod.blogspot.com - I use my work as a way of dealing with or shining a light on my "personal demons" if you will , but not as thoroughly as I'd like to sometimes. I'm still a little bit scared, self-conscious, I don't know. But I am really inspired by artists/performers who are so brave and intrepid about shining that light. It does the world a lot of good. Anyway - I love your podcast! Thanks.
Probably your only listener in Bangkok?

Hi Kathy, welcome to the forums! I second the notion that your art is wonderful. I especially like the paintings of the cat. Very well done. Look forward to getting to know you a little better.

Kathy,
Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you like the podcast. I checked out your art, it's really great. I really like the organic and personal feel of the Rapture piece. I have a friend who is also an artist who suffers from depression and I've invited him to create a panel or two to imbed into my blogs if he feels inspired by anything I write. I would like to extend that same invitation to you. Either way, keep up the great work. If you read a blog of mine that you'd like to draw a panel for, shoot me a private message and we can take it from there. I would imbed your url into the panel so when people click on it, they are taken to your site. I don't know if my idea will work, but I'd be willing to give it a shot.
