It is natural to feel embarrassed. This is a valid feeling.

At the same time, you are advocating for yourself, and we stand by you.

Woke at 3:45am, boys off to work early. Rain was falling so hard it sounds like small stones hitting the window. The cold outside felt beautiful, knowing the level of cold i knew once the darkness moved we would see snow on the hill.

Made the mistake of going back to sleep and was plagued with nightmares and woke with a headache that can only be lifted by anti-inflammatory medication can fix, something I’m not allowed.

Got the feather down duvet and laid it on the floor in the hallway as Mazie loves to do zoomies over it as it makes a cute sound under her paws. We played a little, had some breakfast and both waited for the the rain to slow so we could venture outside.

Made my way to work in what I can only describe as a zombie like state. I can’t tell you how much I had for breakfast, I am unable to recall falling asleep last night and I have absolutely no energy left in my body.

I placed my winter possum scarf on and made my way to work feeling like I have my cat around my neck keeping me warm. I don’t want to be here today, I want to be in the bush, or on a hill looking down from snow level. I want to sleep like a normal person. I want nothing more than peaceful sleep. No phone calls, no emails and no appointments! Only a few days till Easter and I plan making the most of it.

A patient just rung me to thank me for the treatment we gave her yesterday. I felt like yesterday was worth it after all. She asked about how she deals with the anxiety she has while she waits for tests. We talked and I was honest with her. By the end of the call we were both noting we are very similar. I felt like we connected even just briefly. She moved here from America and is a full time artist. Her work is beautiful.

Today I can only hope will give me a nugget of hope.

You hang in there. I think things will get a little better soon.

In the meantime, we hear you and accept you just the way you are.

We’ll get through this together: everyone’s making it. We’re getting to the other side of this mishegas.

Thank you all.

I hoped the feeling would have lifted today but it hasn’t. Feels like all joy has been taken from my body. I get little moments of it when I see the cat chase a shadow or gives me cuddles. I spend 80% of Sunday in bed napping. Much the same Saturday.

Thank you for supporting

Hello Mental Fairy,
Feels like all joy has been taken from my body.
It sounds like maybe a major depressive episode. Have you had one before?
I spend 80% of Sunday in bed napping. Much the same Saturday.
But your body also knows what it needs.
After so much poor and interrupted sleep lately, this may help rejuvenate you a bit.
I get little moments of it when....
Remember and hold on to those things now.

Depression does lift, even though it feels like forever....

(Been there :? )
