Yesterday marked one month since my gastric sleeve surgery. It feels like it has been a year! The good news is I have already lost 52 pounds since my strict pre-op diet began six weeks ago. I don’t really feel different, but my clothes fit better.
My brain and stomach are still fighting…but now my stomach has the upper hand. He doesn’t let my brain stuff too much food in. It’s still hard at times to stop eating after a few bites, but I’m getting better at it.
I’m eager to have my follow-up with the doctor. It should have been next week, but because of the holiday, I don’t see him until July 8. I really hope he will clear me for more physical activity. Right now all I’m allowed to do is walk. I want to get to the gym and start using the weight machines, as well as ride my bike.

Re: Eager
Remarks how lovely to hear from you.
Just today I was wondering how you are getting along.
And you know, there is a lot of truth to what you suggested: I heard a scientist on NPR describe our gut as our “second brain”. Said another way, we are constantly amazed at the power and wisdom of the gut. Your stomach and brain are in close connection.
I imagine you’d be eager to get moving again! Hang in there, my friend.

Re: Eager
Thank you for the update, remarks. I've been wondering how you're doing.
52 lbs. is major, but I think it takes the brain a while to catch up when it comes to weight loss.
I hope you get the all clear to add more exercise on July 8, and enjoy moving with lightness and ease.
