Crazy old lady in my neighborhood
Just made myself endure a lecture from a crazy person in my neighborhood. Her general thesis was that if dogs have a backyard to relieve themselves in, then you can walk them in the neighborhood and they will never have a potty event on somebody else's lawn - all manner of potty events are verboten. She also claimed it wasn't sufficient to always pick up solid waste. I am glad I did not waste time on trying to refute her crazy thesis. I was polite and I pretending to soak in and agree with her babble in a cheerful and interested-looking way. I am glad that before she started talking, I made her wait 4 to 5 minutes for me to fiddle with my phone to turn off my earbuds.
I guess I should feel flattered that now that I look less crazy, people feel confident enough and emboldened enough to bother me with their nonsense.
Being retired, doing nothing productive all day, and being cooped up in your house, makes your thinking all twisted, And unfortunately, it seems to make you bold enough to subject your twisted logic on innocent people.

I just know that lady walks her little dogs very infrequently, and when she does walk them, she’s constantly hassling them by yanking and cranking their leashes. She can go to hell.

But hose purple pom-poms you're wearing in your avatar pix are endearing, not crazy...I guess I should feel flattered that now that I look less crazy,
Are you a dog person? If so, and if she isn't too crazy, maybe take them for a nice walk?

Howdy SnoringDog!
Yeah, kind of pains me when dogs are not living their best life. I wonder how the conversation would go with speaking to that woman and talking around the idea that her dogs deserve better than her twisted personality can provide

Re: Crazy old lady in my neighborhood
Of course it's sad to see animals not being treated well but in most cases one can't do more than make a calm comment and leave, especially with Karens. The less communication the better. I once almost called the animal protection services on my neighbour but it was obvious that avoiding some suffering of a couple of dogs would have caused me endless retaliation and abuse. Instead, every time we had visitors we showed them the dogs through the fence and explained to them loudly what a disgrace our neighbour was, while he was in the background listening in of course. One day while doing this his sister was also there overhearing us, and she must have thought she probably should have a look at the dogs. She started yelling and screaming at her brother and after a couple of weeks the dogs were gone.

Oh, my, this lady is crazy! I'm a dog walker/sitter, and I assure you even with a backyard, they go potty on walks--especially the boy dogs peeing on everything when their is no pee left in their bodies.
I hate when I'm walking one of my doggies and see a neglected doggie. I can't even watch those commercials about abused dogs.
Like you said, it is great running into someone like that to make you feel less insane.

Enjoy the day you have. The next might not be so good. This is how it is with a mental illness.

Howdy LutheranGirl,
Yes, that is my experience with dogs too. I fear this lady is advocating for “yank & crank” of the dogs leash all throughout the walk, so no chance for dog to act like a dog, sad
