Re: PFT
You're out! Stay out. Let this person go. You now have lots of information about what you do NOT want in a relationship. Know that you deserve love and respect. Be thankful that this toxic person is now purged from your life. Counseling is an excellent start! You are at a beginning again, a fresh st...

Re: Hello
Gypsyroseme, I get it and I've been there and frogspit is right. If you can just drag your butt to class and get into the material. The longer the lull the harder it is to get back to it. I had a heck of a time getting my B.A. and often only did a half course load because I just couldn't handle a fu...

Re: Constantly Craving Attention
When I read your post my first thought was why do you need another person to "fill the void". I think you should start there. Why is there a void in your life? Is there anything that brings you joy and a feeling of accomplishment? Fulfillment? When you get attention from others does it dis...

Mike Phirman (Episode 33)
I just wanted to say that I got a lot out of this episode even if there were some reservations about whether Mikes experiences were not as traumatic or intense as some of the previous guests. My mother has been married four times but she has also been in a few relationships that never became "o...

Re: Thriving with my cat in my comfort zone
Hi! It is a good thing that you are here! I just joined recently as well and it has been a big help just knowing all of these people are out there. Much of what you said makes sense to me and I hope that you find a little peace in knowing that there are others who understand and who are more than wi...

Re: Moon Landing
Thank you so much. I'm sorry that this is a belated reply. I've been to the forum prior to this but sometimes I can't bring myself to write anything and I'm not sure why. It is the same feeling I get when I think I should probably call my Dad because it has been awhile, then I end up avoiding it for...

Re: being social is taxing
social situations are so taxing to me Ugghh! That has been the story of my life. When I see other people genuinely having a good time at a party and I have 2 thoughts: 1) I wish so much I could be that way, and 2) what the hell is wrong with me?! After years of work, I'm convinced that I have at le...

Re: Moon Landing
Thanks Dan. I would say that your reply to my intro. has the same elements of self-criticism. It seems impossible to avoid :). I don't find anything you said to be judgmental, preachy, or out-there. I appreciate your feedback. I recently moved to a new community and I made a "resolution" t...

Re: Borderline Personality Disorder
My mother was diagnosed with BPD several years ago. It is a very difficult disorder to live with and difficult for those close to individuals with BPD. Are there any specific questions that you have? I am not a qualified professional but I can speak from my experiences.

Re: wish I could go back
Hello Dan, I am glad that you have found this forum and Paul's podcast. It has been a really positive thing for me especially when I am feeling particularly low. I get that feeling of being somehow different and wrong as a kid. I can't remember a time that I wasn't aware of how I didn't seem to fit ...
