Textbook narcissistic ex
Thanks to this podcast and a good friend, I was able to extricate myself from a marriage to someone who, after I read about it, I realized was a textbook narcissist. I'm posting this partly to vent since I can't seem to completely eliminate her from my life, and to hopefully help others in a similar...

Re: Maybe she is narcissist? Any tips/advice on dealing wi
Based on personal experience, it sounds like she's at least borderline. My ex-wife is textbook. I have been attempting to eliminate all contact with her. Even though I'm not formally a part of the family, there are a couple of nieces who I love, and like to visit with. Because of that, my ex uses th...

Re: For those who want to break free from a Narcissist
Thank you for posting this. I was married to a person who I have since found out definitely fits that category. Ironically, when we were married and she was trying to put names to what she thought was wrong with me, she called me one. I did some reading and that opened my eyes. What opened them even...

Re: issues with adderall(?)
I don't know that the feelings are related to the Adderall, but it's certainly possible. Different drugs work for different people in different ways. I have never heard of anyone getting tired after dosing. That may be another instance of people being on the wrong meds. My experience has been a focu...

Words for your face
I'm not entirely sure where to post this, so I'm putting it here. After having a particularly bad weekend that had me feeling left out and without a friend in the world, this came pouring out. In hindsight, the scariest part is that even after all of it hit my screen, I could still go back and add m...

Re: Scattered talking
Ditto on the yes. It seems to run in my family. My dad did it, and I have a brother that does it. I may be the only person very much aware of it. My other issue is just talking too fast. I've been on Adderall for quite a while now, and I feel like the dose is fine, but speaking and writing are sort ...

Re: Believing
I second all of that! Being a lifelong ADDer, I immediately put a note in my phone to contact Andrew and thank him for speaking. Naturally, I still have not followed up. I have never heard anyone dismiss this as a myth. I'm fortunate to have access to decent health care, and while I am still trying ...

Oh! And lists. Lists help greatly. I have a note app on my phone I use regularly.
People have often suggested that I write things down, but that would require me to remember so many things, it hasn't happened.

Re: What kind of therapy works for ADHD?
I have never even thought about therapy for ADHD. I sympathize with your struggle. I went undiagnosed for most of my life, and was finally put on Adderall a few years ago, and it's the best thing that's ever happened to me. I have also been diagnosed with anxiety. I was on medication for a while, bu...
