Re: constant fear

I experienced the same thing as a new mom. My kids are 10 and 6 now. To some extent, it wears off, but it is also very natural. Even my husband, who has no mental illness at all that I can detect, had the same visions. I still get them from time to time, but they are rare. I think what helped me was...

Re: Child kidnapped. I'm totally fucked up from it

Penny, I confess that I stepped away from this forum for a long while. Just to catch you up (and the world) - The girl who was kidnapped was found dead. She was murdered. Later, the murderer turned himself in. It ended up that he lived 2 blocks from me! The neighborhood did pull together during this...

Child kidnapped. I'm totally fucked up from it

A child from my neighborhood was kidnapped last Friday. I'm totally fucked up from it. Got through the week with a LOT of my anxiety pills and tears. Currently half drunk and eating chocolate cake. As a mom, these things just freak me out, but the fact that it was RIGHT FUCKING HERE is killing me! A...

Re: 44-year-old mom, probably depressed

It sounds like you are a SAHM. Please try to find some groups to join! I was in the MOMS Club for years and they saved my life (google them - they are every where!). Many activities all month long. The kids were busy and we moms developed strong friendships that I still have today - my kids are in s...

Re: Forgetfulness?

I'm on Lexapro and have noticed a lot of forgetfulness recently. I've been on it for around 10 years, but I only noticed this in the last 1-2 years. I'm wondering if it is a long-term side effect. Sucks.

Re: Lexapro

Lexapro has gone generic finally, so maybe you can afford it? I'm not sure the price. My insurance covers it. Good luck!

Re: Lexapro

I've been on Lexapro (and its predecessor, Celexa) for 10 years. I go between 10mg (doing well) to 20mg (depressive relapse). I didn't even know you could get 40mg! The doctors tell me 20mg is the max. Anyway, it seems to be the only thing that works for me. I have tried others, hoping for less side...
