Re: when you don't fit the textbook example of BPD?

Generic- I'm glad you decided to post. A lot (if not all) of what you said makes sense and is really valuable. Thanks for your insight. It sounds like you have a wide span of education as well as experience when it comes to this matter. Not gonna lie- my emotions were all over the place when I read ...

Re: Being prescribed your addictive drug.

Kanata- I applaud you for recognizing and even being WILLING to recognize those things. It takes a lot of courage to be able to admit your weaknesses to others and yourself. It seems like things might be moving in a 'healthier' direction since you first posted, but one thing I was wondering is- Do y...

Re: Treatment/Medication Resistant Depression

I would love to try TMS if I could afford it. I've been on countless meds, different combos, and had 14 rounds of ECT treatments and haven't really seen results. In my case (This is only my case, remember) the ECT treatments were difficult to deal with and didn't help. I'm sure others have had succe...

Re: Electric Brain and/or Body Zaps

I think I understand what you're describing- if it is what I'm thinking then I've been having them for months. I wasn't sure if it was just tension in my body from anxiety that would cause me to suddenly jolt/flex/twitch, meds, or some other physical issue (I have so many anyways). I even questioned...

Re: Friend was recently diagnosed

Ether667- Your post made me smile. It's miserable (to say the least) to be in a relationship with someone that makes you feel like everything is your fault and that you're a bad person. I've had a few of those BFs. They were so great at cheating and then making ME feel bad for 'not trusting them' or...

Re: Self Harm and Me

Leif- I was cutting since I was young and for a long time I didn't really understand why, but I eventually figured out that a lot of it was a way of 'punishing myself'. My emotions would build, thoughts would ruminate "You're bad/ugly/a P.O.S./worthless/disgusting/stupid/etc" and then &quo...

I just might 'jump on the hood of someone's car naked if they tried to break up with me'.. Ok, so maybe not THAT extreme. Take out the 'naked' part and..... ;)

Anyways, WELCOME!

Re: when you don't fit the textbook example of BPD?

yookincalmey (did I get that right?) has a lot of great insight. You really posed some good questions to ask yourself- ones that are easier to relate to and make a lot more sense when it comes to 'the heart' of the BPD person. Often times the traits do come across as too vague, not easy to identify ...
