Can you recommend any books/workbooks?
Hello, my name is Paul. When I asked my therapists why they thought I was the way I was they came back with being a victim of child abuse. I don't really remember childhood, but it seems like the trauma treatment books require remembering the event or events in order to move on. Are there any resour...

My therapists think I was abused as a kid...
Where to start. I'm filled with self-hatred and loathing. It gets to the point where I curse myself out, yell at myself, and try to cut or stab myself with whatever I have in my hand. Usually its nothing, a lot of the time I catch myself. But once I was holding a bread plate and another time it was ...

Re: Anyone else on Brintellix
I wound up ditching the Brintellix. My anger towards others increased, I still felt a lot of self hatred towards myself, and my suicide ideation became more severe than normal. I'll restart the latuda and will start taking sertraline in place of the trazadone.

Anyone else on Brintellix
Has anyone else taken Brintellix yet? What was your reaction to it? I haven't met or heard from anyone who took it yet and I just started it today. Well, re-started. The first time around it seems to have had a negative interaction with some other psych meds (Trazadone, Latuda, and Clonazopam). I wa...

Thanks for your advice. I'll get the book as soon as possible.

It's like my emotional processing is hijacked.
I'm not sure how to put this. I've run into a problem where negative emotions lead to a cycle of negative thinking about myself. If I think about the death of a loved one it becomes my fault and I'm going to die all alone, etc. If I get cut off in traffic I'll think about how I've driven a lot worse...

Re: How do you treat traumas that you don't remember?
I do see a doc and do take meds. I'm also starting the process to get authorized for ECT and I'm hard on myself for mistakes I can or can't fix. As for using something else as a target... I don't know. Does that also reduce the amount of anger and rage or does that merely refocus it on something else?

How do you treat traumas that you don't remember?
I'm a 31 year old male and I had my first breakdown days after my 11th birthday. I'm barely functional, and I spend a lot of time feeling depressed, angry, or both. This anger is almost exclusively directed towards myself and it's been getting worse with each passing year. It's so bad now that I can...
