Re: Podcast #200
I'm really sorry to hear about how angry the book made you feel. I think it's really understandable that you'd feel some resentment toward him because he's in such a privileged position that afforded him a lot more resources than you've had. I know I've sometimes felt similar things - that stories t...

Re: Episode 199: Joni G
We'll have to agree to disagree I suppose. I generally find it more useful to point to the structural factors that make drugs such a devastating part of our communities than to point at individual dealers and decry their misdeeds. And of course the criminal justice system's treatment of drug offende...

Re: Episode 195 - Todd Glass
AnnaWall: That's exactly how I felt. So often I feel like my opinions are discounted because people feel like I'm being petty and oversensitive and "PC" (god how I hate that term) but the thing is the people who feel that way and say things like "just get thicker skin" are never ...

Re: Episode 199: Joni G

The drug trade, in general, sure - but an individual dealer? It'...

Re: Episode 185 DeseRae L Stage
Some other reasons that people might resort to suicide include chronic pain, terminal illness, to avoid criminal punishment, insurance/financial reasons, or even just as an inexplicable impulse. I don't think suicidality necessarily implies depression.

Re: Episode 185 DeseRae L Stage
I loved this episode. And I agree, in the wake of Robin Williams' suicide I've been thinking a lot about some of the things DeseRae said during the episode. For instance, I've been more aware of people saying that Williams "committed" (i.e. 'perpetrated') suicide. I definitely agree with D...

Optional Display of Gender, Pronouns, Age, Disorders
I think it'd be a great idea if, on the side of our posts (where it lists our 'location') we could also display a gender identity (with a write-in option), preferred pronouns (again, with a write-in option), age, and any disorders we may have. Obviously entering and/or displaying this information wo...
