Self pity comes from unmet expectations. Easiest way to get rid of self pity is to get rid of expectations.

I really loathe to be insensitive, but I gotta ask - is this someone's alter personality? It sounds very incongruous for a 14 year old, though to be honest I don't actually know any 14 year olds.
