Re: Ranting Family Members
You're not selfish or a jerk. Sometimes listening to the thoughts of others, especially when chronically negative, can be draining. This might not be the best solution, but I have family like this and sometimes I just physically get up and remove myself from the space. I go to the bathroom, take a s...

Re: Lady Asperger's
Good question neon firefly. I haven't done much looking into it myself. What I did do is read books on female Asperger's & compile a list of traits/behaviors that matched my situation. I also identified family members who could also possibly be on the spectrum. I took the info to my psychiatris...

Re: A poem about being fat.
The line "the illusion of hunger" really resonates with me. Sometimes I feel like that. I'm not really hungry, but I have this invisible urge to eat!

Non-Sexual Objectophilia?
Hi all! I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. My entire life, I've found myself non-sexually attracted to objects. I can remember as early as three years old personifying the trains that run past my house as human. I can even remember calling a train my boyfriend (I have never told anyone this)...

Re: My intrusive thoughts, aka The Monster in My Head
I have an idea! I'm no expert, but maybe try writing these thoughts down and spurring them into some sort of narrative? That way, if the story plays out on paper, maybe it won't play out in your head.

Re: Intrusive Thoughts at bedtime
I used to feel this way when I was younger. However, these days I'm so exhausted that I'd probably sleep right through an axe attack.

Re: Lady Asperger's
Hello! Sorry for the necroposting. I'll never forget about a year ago I got into a huge fight with my mother and she called me "autistic" as an insult. I've never been the same since. But lately I've been wondering if she wasn't wrong. I think I may fit some of the criteria for Asperger's ...

Re: Misophonia
I am so glad for everyone's responses. I thought I was just being nitpicky or irritable. But I've found that I get these flash feelings of anger every time I hear someone chewing, especially gum. I once had a job where my cubiclemate kept chomping on salads, and it was borderline unbearable. I feel ...
