Re: present state
My partner and I play a cooperative card building game that is super fun but tense. You can't even take it easy when it's not your turn, the other player can be directed to mess with your lives/hand. The losses are crushing and the wins are glorious. Before the game starts, I have to sit for a momen...

Re: Goals lab
I sometimes wonder if I'll ever stop being aware of where the escape route is or where every person in the room is. Maybe not. I think that's the major thing people don't understand about trauma. It's not all flashbacks. It's often a colossal waste of energy having to keep track of everything. I rea...

Yes, we have a lot to answer for with the generations of trauma we've caused indigenous people. I can't do the Happy Canada Day! bullshit anymore.

Re: Steak sauce makes me happy.
OK, I know I could google it, but what is steak sauce?
When I ate meat, my steak would be so rare it had its own blood sauce! (sorry, that's gross)

Hi Oak,
A little late with my thoughts here, but when I read about the "new" clutter, I had thoughts along the same lines as Beany Boo. It's not the clutter, it's the emptiness.
So let there be some clutter so the emptiness is not overwhelming.
Wax on Wax off

Re: How I feel right now
Hi Rivergirl, I read your posts, and still think you are lovely and kind and warm and amazing! And now brave because you shared some really vulnerable things. I think the romantic feelings thing is so common and normal. And healthy, as long as the therapist doesn't act on it. Like Beany Boo said som...

Re: feeling 2020
Hi Brownblob, How frightening for you at work. I hope the new managers bring good things, only time will tell I guess. And I hope you are okay. You have been incredibly patient with your psychiatrist. I'm impressed that you keep going, and know that you deserve better. That's no way for him to treat...

Re: present state
Hey guys, Thanks for the love/attention. What a triggered week it was for me. I knew there would be some loneliness to the new position, but I didn't expect to be so physically isolated. Also, someone I was counting on to be a mentor and ally has been pulled away by an immense project and can unders...

Just want to post here that I feel like absolute shit for the past week. I hope I will feel better soon, but that may not happen.

Re: How I Continue to Struggle with Recovery in Relationship
Tony, this sounds like you're doing fantastic. It's going to take time for those around you to realize you mean what you say. Just keep reinforcing. I am a recovered "silent treatment" giver. I learned it from my parents, and it took some time to realize it wasn't getting me anything but s...
