Ian's Diary: Pretty little self destructive bow
I feel like nothing about my life is working. I feel like every day I have just enough energy to pull the string on my back so I can wobble around and pretend to be alive. I'm lonely, I'm exhausted, I'm horny, I'm broke, I'm in pain, I'm ugly and I have no will left. I'm 34 and living with family. I...

Re: Paul Gilmartin here
Well said Paul. I completely agree. Recently I told some that I was spiritual but not religious and was asked what the difference was. You did a much better job at describing spirituality than I did.

Re: Dazed, Confused and Alone
If I tell people I go to therapy I assume people will have pity for me which is the worst feeling to endure. Although judgement seems to be intertwined with pity as well most of the time. I love my family and I know they want the best for me but sometimes what they want to give me is not what I need...

I use to cry at the drop of a hat when I was young and through my teens. About ten years ago my best friend died of cancer and I had a few tears then but haven't cried since.

Dazed, Confused and Alone
The only things I've found that helps is marijuana and alcohol but I stay away from that because I got a bum liver. I've been afraid of seeking professional help due to stigma and judgement even by my immediate family. Right now what I do is ride out the waves of depression, etc. by indulging or pam...

Re: Paul Gilmartin here
Thanks for doing this podcast. It's really helped me confront what I'm doing and not doing about my mental illness. Something you said that made a lot of sense is the five pronged approach (I take meds, exercise, eat healty, try to help others and share my feelings.). I actually don't do any of thes...

Hello from a Hermit Geek in New York
I'm 30 years old, male and live in Albany, NY. I have been suffering from several self diagnosed mental issues from a young age. When I was one year old I was diagnosed with leukemia which left me with large facial scars. This has crippled my confidence and has left me with an inability to have any ...
