I've been listening to the Jenn Golick episode and the part where she talks about parentification really hits home. As a youngster, my needs were never important and as a teen my parents marriage and my mother was falling apart and I was the one left there to comfort her. I am one of the ones she describes as being emotionally crippled.

I'm so sorry to hear that you had a very hard childhood... After taking care of your mom, to be called emotionally crippled must really hurt... I hope you have a healthy way of dealing with this trauma... Praying for you...
