What I really liked about this episode was Paul going into really specific detail both in the intro and with the guest. Also I identified with a lot of guest's manifestations of anxiety.

Related so much to John. Enjoyed hearing from his girlfriend, too (can't remember her name, I'm an asshole). Great episode.

I relate.

I force myself to maintain eye contact while talking to someone, but I'm constantly thinking:

Am I starring
Am I not making enough eye contact
I am starring again
look away, now look back
Am I starring
Omg body language, my arms are crossed!
Now smile
Also smile with your eyes
Now my smile feels stuck to my face
Break eye contact

So much work.

This could have been me. I identified with so much of John's past - breezing through school, making bad jokes in class, having no ambition, feeling no connection with others, jumping from subject to subject. That last one I call my 9 month rule. I can excel at any academic subject for exactly 9 months, but after that further improvement becomes a slog. It was enough to get a law degree, but now I'm stuck.
