Re: Episode 257: Dani Fernandez Comedy/Writer with Hashimoto
I wonder if she has been checked for Antiphospholipid Syndrome. Hashimoto's falls under the umbrella of that Syndrome. Hashimoto's is usaually linked to a bleeding disorder and Hypothyroidism.
I know this because I have Antiphospholipid Syndrome (Lupus Anticoagulant) and Hyperactive Thyroidism. I probably have Grave's Disease given that I have both the bleeding disorder (LA) and the Thyroid issue, and Grave's Disease is the cousin to Hashimoto's with the difference being the Hypo/Hyper Thyroid issue.
All this to say....I'm curious to know if she has been checked for Antiphospholipid Syndrome (which is an Autoimmune Condition that leads to many, many issues, including inflammation throughout your body), and also to please for EVERYONE who reads this to PLEASE get your Thyroid "TSH" levels checked. While in a Mental Health facility recently they found out that my Thyroid levels were at 40. It should be between .4-4.5. The Physician's assistant told me that my levels were the second highest she had ever seen in her practice.
The Thyroid controls everything in your body. It effects your mental health, and they physician's assistant is fairly certain that it is why my mental health went on a steady decline for the past 18 months. If you have a mental health illness, and you don't feel medication is helping I urge you to get your Thyroid checked. It honestly may save your life!!!
