Episode 198: Samantha C.
I identified with a few points in the first I guess 30 minutes but after that this show became very "program" heavy and I just can't relate to that since I am not an addict. After about 1h:20m I was lost in the jargon and the steps. The support group I'm in is thankfully not based on this model and focuses on other things. If you struggle with love addiction this episode is for you I guess. If not it's pretty dry and full of 12 step speak. I can see that both Paul and Sam have backgrounds in 12 step and that's just where it went organically. So there you have it.

Oh yeah I almost forgot. There was one point made while I was listening that really hit me: Parents out there of kids with disabilities/issues what have you discounting their sex lives is bullshit. That sort of thinking will eventually lead to your kids not talking to you about anything.

In this episode Paul asked for suggestions on potential book titles and tested several iterations of "Crying is just your soul blowing a load." I thought none of them came close to the catchy original and were either confusing or felt too constructed. I think all the other alternative versions, required that the person reading the title, knows the original phrase to make any sense of it.
I don't know how the "load blowing" would go on the shelves of Wallmart's selfhelp section, but if it's too raunchy, I'd suggest going for another title format, instead of watering down the original and possibly ending up with a version what's hard to say or remember.
Alternatives to "Crying is just your soul blowing a load:"
"Go fuck yourself."
"This is not a waiting room."
"I'm not a doctor."
"Trust me, I used to be on TV."
"Sending you some love."
"Flatout fucking auditory hallucination"

This might be my favourite Paul Gilmartin quote of all time."I imagine him fucking me until it hurts, smashing furniture in the process, and leaving -- I hope it's cheap IKEA furniture, please FOR THE LOVE OF GOD do not break heirloom furniture!"
