I don't know if anyone is actually going to dig this deep into the forum and actually see this, but I had an idea today, while driving to work.
The one thing that stood out to me, as I thought of what has helped me deal and cope with my depression, is music. When you find that song that tugs on your heart because you feel like they took the words right out of your head. The song that makes you feel connected and not alone, just like the podcast does. A song that you can fully relate to. I love writing down these songs. It is very therapeutic to me. I don't know if it's the act of knowing people may see these words that speak directly to my soul but it always calms me down in a way. I invite everyone to share a song that speaks to you, or that has changed your life in some way. Make sure you give credit to who wrote it.
Ok, Here's mine...
"Under Saturn's Shadow" by Tiger Army
"Here I sit and wait throughout my days
Waiting for something, for my spirit to ascend
It's not that I so badly want to die
But at these times i struggle for desire to live
Each day it grows worse than the last
Function divorced from my body
As Saturn's Shadow falls across my soul
I'm powerless, until it's passed
And I'm trying, I'm trying to find a way
Out of the blackness of this tunnel at the end of the light
And I'm dreaming forever of the day
Dreaming of a time when life won't be this way
(Under Saturn's Shadow I am falling, Under Saturn's Shadow)
Webs invisible blind my spirit
In bondage to a force unseen
Like a candle, this gift my life
It burns away, it burns away
Until night's end sleep will not come to me
Then come restless, fitful dreams
Eternal slumber calls me to her arms
After I'm dead, will I still dream?
Sometimes I dream that I'm alive
Under the stars, under the sky
Then I awaken paralyzed to another day I cannot face
And I'm trying, I'm trying to find a way
Out of the blackness of this tunnel at the end of the light
And I'm dreaming forever of the day
Dreaming of a time when life won't be this way
(Under Saturn's Shadow I am falling, Under Saturn's Shadow)"
I hope this wasn't a stupid idea... :/

Re: Music
Thank you for sharing that. When I'm stuck in depression, I have a tendency to completely forget how helpful music can be.

Thanks for responding FixTheWagon! I suppose I could have posted this in the "Express Yourself" part of the forum, but I'm so new I didn't even realize it was there until after I posted this. Anyway, thanks again for actually reading my post! Your reply made my day!!!
