Boyfriend addicted to drug

I am 25 years old I have been with my boyfriend for 11 years he has been my first and only love. Since I was 15 years old we were so attached to each other that we could not stand being apart. Recently I found that he is an addict to drug. I asked him about the drug and of course he lied but finally admitted that. I got him into an addiction treatment centre in Toronto. He agreed to go but then refused to be kept on methadone. His drug addiction has ruined our relationship. He is my best friend and I am loosing him.
