Towards Freedom Journal: Transcending Nicotine & Caffeine

Post by Feeling »

3 Days: Number of Days Nicotine- & Caffeine-Free as at this post

I have decided to get rid of caffeine and nicotine and to start feeling my feelings, processing my trauma and to become addiction-free.
I have been addicted to many types of addictions in the past from which I am in healthy and ongoing recovery: Drugs, Alcohol, Cigarettes, Porn and Masturbation.

I am currently addicted to Love, Overworking, Caffeine and Nicotine from Shisha/Hookah/Hubbly Bubbly.

I will focus on Nicotine and Caffeine for now and continue to work on my Love and Overworking addiction in therapy.

This will be my journal where I will post as I go along. I find that having a public journal where I can post my struggles, cravings and progress as I reach my milestone is helpful in helping me kick habits and stay clean in the long run.

Wish me luck and thank you for your support! I wish you all the best in your struggle too.

Good luck my friend!

This is really really awesome.

Keep us posted, please.

You're welcome not to believe this, but I was just about to start a thread about switching full time to a whole food plant based diet. Great minds think alike!

I really admire you. Good luck.

Remember: when tempted to pick up a coffee/tea/pop or cigarette/hookah, instead pick up your computer mouse and post here.

Thanks so much Oak!

It means a lot to me and I'll be sure to do just that when ever a craving hits.

I also just got myself a copy of a guided meditation to help me release subconscious emotions and trauma's which I may be resisting to feel and release.

This is a very scary process for me but I have come to realize that there is no way around it. Its either we face and work through it at our own pace without avoiding the pain or we stay stuck in life-long self-sabotaging behaviors.

I sincerely appreciate your support and wish you all the best with your whole food plant based diet - go get'em!

Let's do this!

I'm 6 days in!

I'm struggling a bit with cravings... thoughts of me sitting in a Shisha bar with a big Hookah smoking my troubles away keep assaulting me every now and then but I'll survive.

I've also have resisted drinking coffee or energy drinks even though I had a stressful day yesterday and felt drowsy - I went to the gym instead.

This is a terribly lonely path but there is no other way but going through the pain.

Let's keep moving!
