Re: Sometimes the World is Overwhelming
Revisiting this thread... I think too much, I know...
So hard not to have a negative bias when there's so much pain, injustice and (random) horror in the world.
I vacillate between rage and despair.
And feel the fool for not having a thicker skin.

Re: Sometimes the World is Overwhelming
oh bless this thread.
I had a strange moment yesterday afternoon, tears came out of my face holes and i immediately got into the car and walked the beach in the rain. I was overcome by frustration, i walked and breathed in the salt air. The air filled my lungs with life, with some peace and some freedom to think. I got back to the car and was all wet from the back of my head to the heals of my feet as the rain was driving that way. The front half was bone dry! If the sun wasn't going down i would of stayed out there longer.

There is something about the ocean smell that gets me calm. Much the same as forest smell after rain.

You're not a fool, snoringdog. I wish some of the thick skinned people running the world had your compassion.
And thank you for the photos, Mental Fairy. What a lovely place to go walking, and I'm glad the change brought you some peace and freedom, at least in the moment. Sometimes it's hard to remember to just see and breathe.

It feels like the end of the world here, with the haze from the fires in Canada. This screenshot doesn't capture the weird dark yellow of the sky yesterday....
This one's more like it... (but seems cheerier...)
It is getting better today though, the "National Fire Situational Awareness" site for the US shows a lessening of the intensity...

(BTW - How are you & Mom? I hope you're holding up under the circumstances)

This is literally quite true the last few days here, RivergirlSometimes it's hard to remember to just see and breathe.
