Hello Troebia,

At the risk of embarrassing myself, here are some attempts at art that I made, pre-Covid. It certainly was a lot of fun. A local art museum hosted several "Paint and Sip" sessions, and later, we had one of our own with some friends.

The museum gave a gallery tour of paintings with a certain theme and then selected a painting for us to copy. The group sat together with glasses of wine, while an artist discussed color and composition of the painting in question. And away we went! Fun!

All I know is that I enjoyed it, and it gave me a bit of confidence in myself.

Tada!

My gosh, they are so cool SD. Far better than I could do. Can I ask the size of them?

I like them too! It would be nice to see the paintings you copied. First one looks like something that Edward Munch could have done.

Don't have them in front of me now, but smallish maybe 18 x 24? Probably a standard size canvas, if there is such a thing.

Yes, I think I'll go back to the museum to get a reminder.

Thanks! Third one I almost didn't post...

There's what was in my mind, and then what came out. Not the same! ;)
I could benefit from a lesson or two...

There are many online courses now. I've participated in a few and felt that I always learned at least something, and having little assignments makes you do stuff you wouldn't normally think of by yourself. Tip: choose the courses that are newly published, since you can expect some interaction with the teacher. The forum threads of the old courses on Domestika for example, have been abandoned by the teachers. They sometimes sell the old ones at a discount but you may also find them for free as torrent downloads.

These are so great, SnorningDog!

Puts me in the mind of imagining you painting them brush-stroke by brush-stroke!

I have now discovered that there is a sub-sub-forum called "Dear Diary" and I´ll continue this thread over there:
