Thank you SD :)

I like the notion of ‘corporate kindness’ as an indicator of performance; to attract clients and as a measure of how staff interact.

My anxiety is fed by a couple of thoughts:

1. The world is in the state it is simply because I exist
2. If I don’t step in, in a mild crisis, other people will very quickly cease to manage and lose control of their lives
3. If I don’t spend time keeping a hold of my tongue, what comes out of my mouth will cause chaos

Agreed with Manuel Moe: the world is better because of you.

And sometimes a little chaos is indicated: your boss needed some chaos (in the form of the truth about his outdated antics). Perhaps he can learn at this late hour. At any rate, the status quo can’t continue, and chaos showing up is the only way he may learn.

Thank you both :)

They’re thoughts I’ve isolated as, sort of the ‘blueprint’ of my anxiety.

But they do also mysteriously have a positive force when I feel healthy.

It’s true that when I let the perceived chaos out in my words they invariably result in some unforeseen positive outcome. When I consciously let people free to their own fate, I usually end up doing or saying something that makes them feel seen. And when I relent and just be, the ‘burden’ I become is usually supported by ‘the world’ rushing forward and the effect on each of us is remedial or fertile in some way.

When I start to feel safe or in control, in recovery from mental illness, there’s an expectation that feeling better or happiness will follow.

In my experience, this is not what happens.

With that sense of safety, your body and mind, somewhat ironically, feel safe enough to feel the pain stored up, on the surface. This is very confusing. Especially so, if someone else is providing a safe environment to you, and you begin feeling pain, regret or fear. You’re feeling safe enough to let it out/go.

The consolation is that this is a healthy expression of pain. If you can see the distinction you’re less likely to recoil; and be able to respond and move through.

I’m going to brand myself a loser, compulsively, sometime in the next hour. In the moment prior I prefer to swerve that act and have a neutral experience instead.

It worked in the previous hour so, I might continue.

Hello Beany

this is interesting to be, the idea of "swerve" before "in the moment prior" to be more self-loving

i have intrusive thoughts of regret, and i have intrusive thoughts of harsh judgement against myself about the past

what would you suggest, how would i go about it to do as you have done?
