A poem of sorts

Post by IceLupus »

I wrote this while in a very odd mind frame. Hope someone might like it.

Alone in the trust that time will heal our wounds.
Silently we wait on the outskirts of society.
We are one and the same.
We are free and proud.
We are the voice of every-man.
And the voice of no one.
In the darkness we sit.
And in the light we shine.
Bleeding from wounds.
Yet healing of the mind.
We watch and wait for our time in the sunlight.
And we weep with every new member.
We are the ones who have seen the best.
Yet now we live the worst.
We all are the same.
And different in our tragedy.
A voice of all.
A cry of one.
Show us now the truth.
Show all that love can break the darkness.
Embrace us for we have been shunned.
And love us for what we are and what others did not see.
And who are we?
What creature?
We are those who have loved deeply and been torn by misfortune.
We are the lovers who never had the chance to love.
Yes, we are every man and every woman.
And when the pains of love have broken one of the loved.
We shall hold them and nurture them to rise again.
May those who love never need know this dark place.
Yet be comforted that we shall be here.
To bring sweet soft comfort to your soul.
And show those who thought ill that you are loved even without them.

Thank you kitkat. I use to write a lot. I pick it up now and again. Perhaps after a time I might post more. Still thank you for your kindness.

Please do write more! If not for us, do it for yourself if you're anything like me -- as Earnest Hemingway so eloquently put it, "when I don't write, I feel like shit."

Thanks Chedoll,

So since last time I posted here another old Poem came across my screen. I wrote this back when I had stopped drinking. Sometimes it's cool to clean out a old storage box, you find interesting things. Hope this is an OK one since it is pretty dark.

Darkness falls across my mind.
Times are turning in the light.
Sitting here silently alone.
Wandering deep into the depths of madness.
I hear you calling but have no voice.
Can't you feel me seeking your hands.
Can't you hear my crying in vein.
I hoped and dreamed of a life.
Something more than this pain and misery.
My ears are blocked I can't hear your wailing.
My eyes blinded by your hatred and strife.
I crawl through the galleries of my mind seeking a light.
I fumble about the past and present.
The future is darker still.
You continue seeking me but I am lost here.
Leave me be to sink low into this mind.
Diseased , broken and jagged memories comfort me here.
Here I shall stay till everyone goes away.
Let my life go on and lead down this darkened path.
Inside every cynical person, there is a disappointed idealist.
