Comic w/ Depressed Character

Post by TravellingStill »

Hello Mental Illness Happy Hour Family,
I've recently started a long-term (page a week) graphic novel webcomic with a protagonist who has chronic depression and has suffered some abuses and trauma in his past which unfold throughout the series. Some of it can be a bit graphic, but it's a sympathetic character that I'm hoping to be able to use to educate people about these mental health issues in addition to telling a story. This podcast has really given me the gumption to move forward on this project, so I hope you enjoy it! If you are working on your own comics, please share the link with me, I'd love to see your work, here's the first page of mine: https://doubtingthomascomic.wordpress.c ... -page-001/

Thank you. I'm being pretty honest with it which is actually a little scary for me, but so far people have been kind in their responses!

I've changed the address for this, it's now at http://doubtingthomas.thecomicseries.com/ I've been hearing some good responses to the mental health aspect of this which makes me happy. There's not been a whole lot of feedback from readers yet, but I'm getting about 20 viewers a day and am approaching 4,000 page views, so it looks like there is some audience for this!
