I did this right after the election was over but hopefully it says something that goes beyond that.

Hello Danjay,

Hey you're an alumnus from the early days! Just read your post from 2011.
Nice artwork! Thanks for posting it. (I felt a certain lightness too, especially after noon on the 20th :). )

BTW - our friend Troebia who is an artist, recently posted about his experiences with the interpersonal dynamics of online (and IRL) groups.
(He's looking for constructive criticism of his work).

Might you have any advice or leads?

Regards

Thanks manuel_mo_g.
Thanks Snoringdog.
I don't seem to be able to respond to each response individually. I'm not a great person to ask for constructive criticism. I'm pretty much self taught, I see images in my head and I try to put them on canvas or in sculpture. This is just to say that I don't really know what I'm talking about. I'd be happy to look at Troebia's work and give my two cents but that's probably all it's worth.

Once the media started calling the winner, New York City just kind of erupted with joy. People were banging on pot and pans, honking their horns, bands were playing music and people were dancing in the streets. It was a great day.
So, my last post was 10 years ago. I once saw Paul do a live interview in Brooklyn, met a few other listeners.

Going through a rough patch here guys, super depressed. Thanks for the kind words about my art. I hope it makes someone out there feel good.

Hello Danjay,

Yeah, the board is linear, no way to reply individually.

Constructive criticism of art, hmm....
(I'm not an artist myself, but love to look, and NYC is quite the place to see so much... from the major museums, to the small galleries throughout.)

I guess if the artist had questions about composition, form, use of color, or tools/technical, that would be a place to start.
Otherwise, art is so individual that you can't really say something's "good" or "bad" per se, only that it expressed the artist's concept successfully, right?

I'm sorry to hear that you're down again.
( I've known the feeling. Fortunately (?) for me, anxiety is what I'm wrestling with these days. Don't know which is worse...)

Anyway, for what it's worth, you have another small bit of connection here with us. ;)

Here's how I judge art: could I make that thing? If the answer is no, I am impressed.

I certainly could not make what you did DanJay. Great job!

Thanks for the responses. I'm sure that this is a place where I don't have to say I'm fine, everything is great when it's really not.

If you tell us you're doing fine here, we just assume you're a liar.
