Depression songs!!!
Anyone got a favorite song that expresses/demonstrates/explains/is about depression?
Crying in the Rain - Everly Brothers recording, or the A-Ha recording.
Hurt- NIN or Johnny Cash.

Tom Waits - Invitation to the Blues
Feels like it's me in that song. Sooo sad & good.

"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."

My all time favoite is Modest Mouse. If you don't listen to Modest Mouse when you're depressed you're missing out - Polar Opposites. Whenever You Breathe Out. Alone Down There. 3rd Planet. My favorite is probably Bankrupt On Selling, it sums up feeling hopeless quite nicely.
other good ones are
Iron & Wine - The Trapeze Swinger, Sodom South Georgia
Elliott Smith - King's Crossing, Angeles, Twilight, Between the Bars (or literally and other elliott smith song)
the Dum Dum Girls - Coming Down
Girls - Vomit
Bob Dylan - I Shall be Released
Bon Iver - Beach Baby
Smashing Pumpkins - Soma, Luna, This Time
Cat Power - Maybe Not, Moonshiner, Say, Still in Love
Daniel Johnston - Spirit World Rising
Waxahatchee - Grass Stains
The Mountain Goats - This Year, Dilaudid, Wild Sage
The Postal Service - The District Sleeps Alone Tonight
Wilco - Radio Cure
Sufjan Stevens - Casimir Pulaski Day, All the Trees
