Help us find support for crippling social anxiety

Post by Eljefetacoma »

Hi everybody. My girlfriend is crippled by social anxiety. Is there any sort of online support group for her to get involved with? She's so afraid to go out and interact with people in real life. She's also a child of an alcoholic dad who killed himself. I'm trying to encourage her to go to al-anon with me, but an online group could be a good first step.

I know that therapist Kati Morton (who has been a guest on the podcast) has a website with some forums. I checked it our briefly the other day, so I'm not super familiar with them, but that's the only thing that jumps to mind. http://www.katimorton.com/

I hope I'm not too late to be helpful but, there is a website called In The Rooms that has online meetings for many many 12 step programs. You can attend the meeting without being seen if you wish, or you can participate by webcam.
Hope This Helps
