Dyslexia or Aixelsyd

Post by Bigfun »

Hello out there.
I've been struggle with Dyslexia, I was first diagnosed in middle school by teachers and counselors. They brought my parents in for a goup meeting to discuss the issues since I was one of the worst cases they had ever seen. My parents at the time refused to believe it and informed them that Dyslexia is a made up disorder along with ADHD. My parents literally moved out of the school district and i never received help for it. I've watched documentaries about it and apparently there's a link to childhood trauma which I've had my share of, I have PTSD along with other mental issues, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to seek help/treatment/diagnosis for it now as an adult. I think I have ADHD to since they tend to go hand in hand, I think I could really benefit being treated for that, but I don't know who to talk to about it. In Highschool I asked teachers and guidance counselors but I went to one of the worst schools in the country and no one really knew. (I'm not exaggerating the rating system came out right after I graduated and it was listed in the top 10 worst schools in the country and was shut down shortly after.

EMDR is used for PTSD

my therapist uses little buzzers, one for each hand, and controls duration, intensity, and frequency.

the sessions can be a little exhausting, but with a caring therapist, you will feel safe and listened-to.
