Loves

Miso soup; Japan's lifeblood, like drinking history mixed with a little ocean rainwater

The green of plants in the still air and morning sunlight after rain in winter on Saturday after a week of office work.

Ducks; difficult to put into words. There are certain larger wild ducks that up close are profoundly comforting and ancient; particularly in the gloaming; a member of the bird family but cousin to the dragon.

A dry warm south westerly wind on an early summer, sunny late afternoon whispering, "come and fly your kite in the park with me."

As above, but instead of a kite, a skateboad. I'm rolling downhill all alone on a bike path on my longboard. The warm wind at my back is caressing my face, there's the hum of the wheels, time disappears and I'm 15 forever.

Standing on a ferry, on lake Ashi, not far from Mt Fuji. The sun is setting on one of the best days of my life but still shines on the bare tops of the overlooking hills where I can see a small house. I feel drawn to that house; I wish I were there now. The air is the perfect temperature. Just as the sun dips, my eye is drawn back down to the deep green forest on the bank. Then, in the gently swirling water against the backdrop of forest shadow, I see a small, fire-red Shinto gate sitting in the water. I experience a wordless mystery. The ferry passes on in the gathering gloom towards the distant shore, and I might forever be changed.

Beautiful word picture. "I might be forever changed." I recognize that feeling.

I found that feeling in Japan. It's a feeling of: who you are; is more important; altogether. Doesn't really make sense but it's an overwhelming feeling.

Nature is powerful.

Taking a BMX and riding aimlessly through all the hills, north of the city, in the middle of the night, with a full moon and clear skies, in GTA 5.

I love it when my cat decides the bathmat is mortal enemy #1 and gets in a wrestling match with it, back paws kicking, rolling around with the bathmat biting at it, and then I peek around the corner and they freeze! Wasn't doing nothing mom! Lol
