Compulsion

A morbid fear of and fascination with doing; doing everything, doing nothing, anything, something. Doing.

Yes, I have felt this needling obsession with doing as well BBoo. I don't know that my intermittent drive to dododo has amounted to anything worthwhile but a lot of wasteful self-loathing because I don't "stack up". I am learning to be gentler with myself, only because my particular combo platter of mental illnesses has forced me to. The allure of doing is very seductive; the rewards are elusive.
I am acceptable; you are acceptable.

Totally with you. In fact, one of my more amusing insanities is wondering whether I'm doing nothing the right way. lol

It's funny though how many religions, spiritual practices, and other ways to do life stress the importance of just doing nothing. I'm not religious by any means, but a phrase that always sticks with me is this one from the Hebrew bible: "Be still and know that I am the Lord."

I interpret it for myself as "Chill. Everything is going to be okay."

Yes, am I doing nothing enough to prompt only the consequences I would probably want.

Perfectionism

The opposite of happiness. Striving for happiness but applying too many conditions to ever approach it. Happiness requiring conditional approval from all parties. Wanting complete success but refusing to get there other than in an idealised way.

Anihilation Anxiety

The fear that your mind won’t cope with whatever you face in your future; such that you cannot help but try to imagine that horrible prospect in order to somehow prepare for it. Ironically, that imagined future becomes overwhelmingly real, and plagues you, curtails your options, even though it’s only a fantasy. Doubly ironically, the only way to properly prepare for it is to see the power of the fantasy and yet challenge its veracity at the same time. You can only move forward on the basis that your mind will cope, or learn how, with what’s in store and, that you’ll also respect the limits of your own mind and not push it too far.

Happiness

Taking enough risks to put a sufficient load on your mind so as to exercise it. Risks should benefit you, be compelling to you, move you forward from where you are; not be so risky as to endanger your life; not be so safe that they make no demand on your life force. If you get stuck in a risk, or fail, humility and kindness are the only solution. However these are almost preferable to happiness anyway.
