Re: Music
Has anyone out there heard of six60 and Fat Freddy’s Drop? Just wondering as massive over here. Six60 have made an amazing music program in our South Island for young ones to get scholarship for music.

Re: Music
We saw a tribute to Paul Simon the other day on the CBS network, and here's a song that stood out to me, at the 1 hour 16 minute mark (1:16:45)

Rhiannon Giddens with Paul Simon singing his 1973 song "American Tune".
Her vocals are aching beautiful...

Re: Music
Paul Simon is a legend. Grew up with his music. Thank you for this as I haven’t listened to him in a while. Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins have been my constant when I feel like I need music.

Re: Music
The last few days I have relit my candle of love for country music!
It is rather lovely how music can change a mood, a moment, and a day. My inner cowgirl is lapping it up. Music affects mood and mood affects the music we listen too.

Re: Music
This young boy Malakai sings so sweetly and beautifully.
So uplifting - helps me to forget the state of the world for a few moments.
Not ashamed to say it makes me cry.

He starts at around 2:20 but the whole thing at 9 minutes is worth watching...

Re: Music
So, I'm a sucker for this sort of thing I guess.
(Maybe because I know how it feels not being able to cry...)
A follow-up tribute to the musician who went by the name "Nightbirde" (Jane Kristen Marczewski) by the (very good!) Mzansi Youth Choir from South Africa-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBrpw01pr8A
She showed such courage, dignity and grace in the face of her terminal illness...

Re: Music
I find this interesting you brought this up.
I don’t often listen to music but lately it’s been playing in my ears all the time.
I even find myself lip syncing walking home from work. The feeling of walking everywhere has been very cathartic. It’s amazing how much a good walk feels afterwards.
Really enjoying The Lumineers currently.
Jake Johnson and UB40
